Psalm to the Sea

Oh, mighty Neptune, God of the Sea,
floating high upon your coral throne;
Oh, great Triton, King of the Mer,
guide me home safely tonight.

I hear the sirens' call -- temptation
pulling me toward the jagged rocks;
I steer on.

I navigate through the narrow canal --
scylla to one side, charibdus the other;
I follow the wind.

Through storm, gale and high seas I sail;
my vessel glides along, unscathed,
trusting in the gods for guidance.

At night, you light my course with your beacons,
your map to guide me on my way
and lead me safely back to harbor.

Oh, Neptune and Triton, keep watch over me;
keep me safe on my journey home,
to the land and the woman I love.
